Sustainability in Sports Clubs

Using sport as vehicle to inspire environmental sustainability, Litefoot helps community sports clubs to become energy, water and waste efficient. The LiteClub team visits clubs, sharing their knowledge and installing energy and water saving devices along with recycling stations. To date, they’ve helped 149 sports clubs in Canterbury to prevent 373 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, divert 657 tonnes of waste from landfill and conserve 4.6 million litres of water each year. LiteClub is an entirely free service for clubs.

SIFT has supported Litefoot to work with sports clubs in Waimate, Mackenzie, Selwyn, Timaru, and Hurunui districts.
